BIG Rough Boring Double-Sided Hexagonal Inserts
The primary function of rough boring tools is to improve machining efficiency, quickly removing most of the allowance from rough holes, enhancing dimensional accuracy, reducing surface roughness, and preparing for semi-finish and finish boring. Rough boring inserts are consumables, and many customers have expressed a desire to reduce insert costs while ensuring machining quality and efficiency. To address this, BIG introduces an excellent and economical double-sided hexagonal insert for ultra-high-performance SW rough boring heads.
This insert features an 80° point angle and is double-sided with six usable corners, making it a high-strength and cost-effective double-sided insert.
● Stable Locking Mechanism
Through a unique side rail support structure, the insert is locked securely and reliably.
● Specially Designed Chip Breaker
An optimal chip breaker shape achieves both excellent chip breaking and cutting performance.
● High Rigidity with SW Rough Boring Heads
The SW rough boring head and insert seat employ a high-rigidity serrated connection structure, particularly suitable for high-efficiency machining with large depths of cut and high feed rates.
● Balanced or Step Cutting by Swapping Left/Right Insert Seats
Balanced Cutting Machining
In balanced cutting where the cutting edges are at the same height, both cutting edges equally bear the resistance, enabling machining under high feed rate conditions.
Step Cutting Machining
The inner and outer cutting edges perform stepped cutting separately, increasing the cutting volume and improving machining efficiency. Additionally, the chip width is reduced, resulting in good chip evacuation.
★ Important Note:
When selecting the double-sided hexagonal insert, the newly launched N-type insert seat must be separately chosen to match. It corresponds to a machining range of φ32mm - φ203mm.
